Mission Statement


To promote domesticated pigs as pets.  To provide education to pet pig owners, veterinarians, shelters and the general public.  To work with animal shelters, humane societies and pet pig owners to rescue unwanted, abused or abandoned pet pigs and place them into new, loving homes.

Sunday February 14, 2010 1 to 3 PM - Pig Placement Network Membership Gathering At Ross Mill Farm On Valentine’s Day. Bring your sweetheart to the First Membership Gathering  ** Pizza & drinks will be served ** Gathering will include a round table discussion about future plans and goals for the PPN Membership. RSVP 215-322-1539.  Additional meetings - Sunday, March 21, Sunday, April 18, Sunday, May 23, Sunday, June 13, Sunday, July 11, Sunday, August 22, Sunday September 26, Sunday October 10.

We need your help!

PPN counts on volunteers to help our organzation function and appreciate those willing to give even the smallest amount of their time. If you are willing be part of our organization, full-time, part-time, even sporatically, we need you. 

PPN also in current need of someone willing to upload pigs to various Pet adoptions sites.

Accountant or Bookkeeper ~~~ We are in need of a someone with knowledge of QuickBooks and who has accounting/bookkeeping experience. Additional knowledge with non-profits and ability to attend Board of Director meetings a plus. PA/NJ area.  This position is permanent.

Artist ~~~ Someone interested in creating our PigFest T-shirts, jazzing up our logo, misc. artist type stuff.

Clerical ~~~ Position in Rushland PA. Tasks include adoption follow-up, mailings, filing, phone follow-up, misc. clerical.  Computer knowledge a must.  Position can be tailored to your preferences.

Event Coordinator ~~~ PA/NJ area.  Coordinate exhibitors, literature and pigs at events where our organizations appearance has been requested. Attendance at these functions a plus.

Event Participants ~~~ Exhibitors with or without your pig. We are always in need of people who would like to show off their pig and man a table with our literature.  Events include Greyhound fairs, Get-A-Pet in combination with other animal orgs and misc. charitable events.  One-time appearances are welcome. Foster Homes ~~~ USA WIDE The PPN is looking for people who would be interested in “socializing’’ or fostering a potbellied pig.  One month is all that is needed and what a great help it would be.  Read a nice story (click here)

Mailing List ~~ Ability to work in Access and send out mass mailings. Interested party, contact SusannePPN@comcast.net directly

Photographer ~~~ Ross Mill Farm, Rushland, PA.  Take pictures of pigs that are available for adoption.  Keep info up-to-date on sponsored pigs and relate the info to other staffers.

Sponsorship Director ~~~ Handle sponsorships by sending pictures and stories to those that sponsor individual piggies.

Volunteers, Misc. Positions ~~~ USA WIDE PPN is seeking volunteers to help in all areas of our organization.  If you have a specialty you would like to offer, for one day or an entire year, we’d like to speak with you. It can be anything from farm-hand to ad writer.  Whatever your idea, let us know.

Web Designer ~~~ Anyone interested in redesigning our web site

Writer ~~~ Articles for our newsletter, outside publications, publicity ads, etc.

All positions are volunteer and non-paying. Unless specifically noted, positions can be part-time and/or temporary. Complete job description will be discussed upon interest.  Please contact Susanne if you are interested in any of the above positions.   SusannePPN@comcast.net
